About this site
This is probably the third revision of welou.net thus far. So, what has changed? In addition to the new fresher visual style, there have been some tweaking and polishing of scripts under the hood as well.
Why is there a welou.net?
This site provides me a platform on which I can experiment with different stuff. It is also a place where I can introduce myself to anyone who’s trying to look me up through search engines.
Technical info
The site is xhtml (XHTML 1.0 Strict) and the scripts are powered by php. CSS is responsible for the looks, of course. The scripts in question fetch information and content from my flickr and last.fm accounts, namely my latest pictures and music info.
This time around I wanted to try out the @font-face CSS property which allows the use of non-system fonts. However the font rendering appeared to be quite bad on Windows computers, regardless of browser. So, if you insist on using Windows, you're getting Arial while other platforms get the nice Calluna Sans.
This site has not been previewed in Internet Explorer 6 nor in any version of Linux.
